MASF Florida opening weekend

On the weekend of Jan 17, I attended the annual awards ceremony of the Miniature Art Society of Florida.

There were numerous artists present from all over the US and the world. This was my first miniature art show, and the first time I had ever attempted a miniature piece.  I was thrilled to just be accepted.

It was also a very interesting experience to be present at the show’s opening as buyers came in looking for artwork from their favorite artists.  I was there lending a hand to the members of the society as they took orders from the attendees.

The show featured more than 500 works of art including 3D sculptures.  The show closes on February 15, and member artists will be in attendance on various days doing demonstrations.

These folks are a very dedicated bunch who absolutely love what they do. I would also add that they are a very kind and friendly group as I felt right at home with them.
